HILLTOP VIDEO'S movie rental policy:
You must have a photo I-D (driver's license or equivalent) and a working phone number to set up a rental
account. Period.
Our store policy does not permit multiple accounts. If you already have an account, please do not
attempt to set up another one under a different phone number unless you have a legitimate reason.
In the past, people have set up new accounts in an attempt to avoid paying late charges on an
existing account. If we discover that you have done so, you will be barred from renting again. Only
if all charges are paid, can reinstatement be considered. In other words... don't push it!!
We ask that you handle DVD's carefully, by the edges only. Please don't let your kids use it as a
Frisbee, or let the dog play "fetch" with it. ( "The dog ate it" may have worked for your homework, but
it won't work for missing movies! ) All movies are inspected and cleaned upon return. If damage is noted,
you may be charged for repair or replacement.
Movies and games are due back in our store by 3:00 pm. The due date is printed on your rental receipt.
If you rent a movie and don't return it on time, we charge a fee of one day's rental per day until that movie
is returned. So are we getting rich off late fees. as some people have insinuated? Look at it from our
perspective: When a new movie comes out, demand is usually pretty high. If that movie isn't on the
shelf because someone hasn't returned it, we lose a rental. For every day that movie isn't here, people
who want to rent it cannot do so. We lose the rental fees, but more than that, other customers..
maybe you .. can't get the movie they may want. Sometimes they'll make an alternate selection,
sometimes not. But the fact remains that if the movie isn't here, we can't rent it. That's why we
appreciate getting movies back on time. And that's why we charge late fees. Think of it this way: we're just trying to help you learn responsibility! And if you're nice, maybe we'll let you use that condo in the Bahamas that we've paid for with all our late fee receipts!
